CT Angiography (CTA)

This channel includes news and new technology innovations for CT systems use a series of X-ray images to create an image volume datasetthatcan slices or manipulated on any plane using advanced visualization software. The section includes computed tomography scanners, CT contrast agents, CT angiography (CTA and CCTA), CT perfusion, spectral CT (dual souce CT), and interative reconstruction dose reduction software. Find more news on cardic CT in the Society of Cariovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) channel page.

An example of FFR-CT imaging from Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. The left image shows a 3D generated image of the coronary tree from a CT scan evaluated with computational fluid dynamics to determine the FFR numbers. It shows a severe restriction of the left main artery which requires a stent to revacularize. The image on the right is a comparison with the invasive angiogram from the cath lab prior to stenting.
