Financial details of the transaction are not being disclosed. The transaction is subject to the completion of Abbott’s acquisition of Alere, as well as antitrust approvals and other customary closing conditions.

The trial will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of performing pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) with the Arctic Front Advance Cryoballoon in patients with symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) prior to treatment with anti-arrhythmic medications.
