Honeywell LifeStream Offers Two New Web-Based Remote Monitoring Systems

April 29, 2009 – Honeywell HomMed said this week announced two new telehealth and remote patient care systems, the LifeStream Connect and LifeStream View, both part of the company’s LifeStream Telehealth Ecosystem.

The products are components of the LifeStream Telehealth Ecosystem, a comprehensive platform launched by Honeywell HomMed in October 2007, which includes the award-winning Genesis DM telehealth monitor that tracks both symptoms and vital biometric information from patients at home and transmits it to healthcare providers for monitoring. The company said the new products will further increase the benefits of telehealth monitoring to patients and healthcare providers by providing greater access to health information, enhancing efficiency and improving patient care.

LifeStream Connect is a suite of interfaces that seamlessly integrates critical electronic medical record (EMR) and other point-of-care applications in a single platform. With LifeStream Connect, clinicians can use a unified application for patient monitoring and no longer have to switch between disparate systems. Honeywell HomMed said its systems offer more interface options than other telehealth companies.

LifeStream View allows patients, families and healthcare providers easy, secure access to patient information via the Internet, enabling more active and convenient participation in patient care. Doctors can access crucial patient information from their laptops at any time, allowing them to stay more informed of their patients’ status and respond more quickly to any changes in a patient's condition.

Patients and their families can also use LifeStream View to securely access and track patient information in real time and identify developing health trends. The information is conveniently organized into tabs and graphs that patients can export to share with their physicians. The ability to instantly and easily see both symptom status and critical biometric information, such as weight and blood pressure, encourages patients to take an active role in their health.
