The SCCT Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Cardiovascular CT meeting will be held in New York City at the Marriott East Side, April 24-26, 2020. #SCCT

January 9, 2020 — Maulik Majmudar, M.D., chief medical officer at Amazon will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Cardiovascular CT meeting presented by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT). Majumdar will be speaking on Amazon’s view of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare at the conference, which will be held in New York City at the Marriott East Side, April 24-26, 2020.

Majumdar, a renowned cardiologist, left Massachusetts General Hospital to lead the tech giant in advancing and evolving the future of patient care. When asked why Silicon Valley is hiring so many cardiologists, he told MM&M in May 2019, “If you look at technological innovation over the years, cardiovascular medicine — above and beyond any other specialty — has probably seen the most, spanning all the way from new devices and diagnostics to clinical trials.”

“Cardiovascular CT imagers must keep up with the latest advances in technology within the field in an effort to improve and maximize patient care,” explains Ed Nicol, M.D., MBA, FSCCT, of Royal Brompton Hospital in London, who led the organizing committee for the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Cardiovascular CT meeting. “Having Dr. Majmudar share his insights and perspective as a leader in this cutting edge field of healthcare technology is a tremendous honor.”

The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Cardiovascular CT meeting will bring together AI/ML developers, the clinical cardiovascular CT community and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the development, validation and clinical implementation of these technologies in cardiovascular medicine.

This meeting will focus on developments in AI and ML, that have the potential to impact on cardiovascular medicine and cardiovascular CT. Concentrating on the theme of coronary artery disease, will allow for in-depth discussion of clinical applications of these technologies with a wide range of stakeholders from the clinical, academic and commercial arenas.
