HeartStart Mrx Aims to Start the Treatment Clock Sooner

March 31, 2008 – Hitting ACC 2008, the Philips HeartStart Mrx monitor/defibrillator works to enable hospitals to organize their resources sooner, including activating the cath lab, before a STEMI patient arrives.

The HeartStart MRx reportedly enables paramedics to quickly acquire and wirelessly transmit a suspected STEMI patient’s 12-lead ECG data to the emergency department and other locations, such as the interventional cardiologist’s office, so they may begin preparing for the patient’s care. As a result, the scheduling, diagnostic assessments and routing activities, can begin while patients are en route to the hospital, saving valuable time.
