February 7, 2023 — The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) announced plans to host the SCCT 18th Annual Scientific Meeting from Thursday, July 27 through Sunday, July 30, 2023 in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. Pre-program courses and workshops will take place on Thursday, July 27.
The announcement for an in-person SCCT2023 conference comes after the Society hosted its biggest in-person Annual Scientific Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, in July 2022 while enforcing the SCCT2022 Health Policy, as well as monitoring the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) mask and vaccine guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic.
“[SCCT2023 is] the premier annual international meeting for those practicing, researching or just interested in cardiovascular CT and its role in preventative cardiology through to structural, congenital, pediatric care and global healthcare,” said Ed Nicol, MD, MBA, FSCCT, chair of the Annual Scientific Meeting 2023 Program Committee.
According to Dr. Nicol, SCCT2023 will include new pre-program initiatives, such as the Hands on Hearts: Valvular Heart Disease Workshop, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning “big data,” and product development workshop and CCTA for interventionalists.
This year’s conference will also include extended sessions on the fundamentals of cardiovascular CT for both early career physicians and technologists, he said. Attendees can expect “the usual mix of cutting-edge science, research and clinical innovation mixed with games and debates with giants in the field.”
Dr. Nicol added that members should attend SCCT2023 because the conference will be “an academic powerhouse with an innovative and diverse program of activities, hosted in an iconic city by a friendly and inclusive community to both newcomers and established members alike.”
The Annual Scientific Meeting is designed to engage physicians, trainees, technologists and healthcare professionals in a complete overview of the cardiovascular computed tomography field. Planned sessions are targeted for all levels – from new practitioners to experienced providers. Sessions also range from general overviews to state-of-the-art research and expert discussions.
Sessions will cover topics such as structural heart disease, congenital heart disease, guidelines and trials, AI/Machine learning, technical aspects of cardiac CT, coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease.
Registration for the Annual Scientific Meeting is now open with an early bird deadline of May 31, 2023. Scientific Sessions will be held at the Hynes Convention Center.
