April 27, 2017 — Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H., installed Toshiba Medical’s Infinix-i Sky + angiography system in its endovascular hybrid operating room (OR). Wentworth-Douglass is using the system to diagnose and treat a wide range of vascular disorders, such as aneurysms and peripheral vascular disease.
“We needed an angiography system that would work seamlessly with our existing OR table while offering high-quality imaging, workflow features and the flexibility to perform any vascular procedure needed. The Infinix-i Sky + meets all of these needs,” said James Estes, M.D., director, Vascular Surgery Services for Wentworth Health Partners Cardiovascular Group at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. “We knew Toshiba Medical would be a good partner and will ensure our success throughout the life of the system, including service and ongoing training.”
The Infinix-i Sky + ceiling-mounted system features a double sliding C-arm that allows the C-arm to be positioned in more ways to help doctors increase coverage, speed and patient access. The system’s 12 x 16-inch flat panel can be positioned above or below the patient, offering physicians increased flexibility for procedures that require additional space, and its low-contrast imaging capabilities enable superior visualization. The system also incorporates an extensive set of innovative dose management tools, designed to help clinicians in the practice of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). This includes technology like the Dose Tracking System that estimates peak skin dose exposure in real time.
