    FFR Technologies | November 15, 2017

    A discussion with William Fearon, M.D. director of interventional cardiology, Stanford University Medical Center, about the FAST-FFR Trial he is heading. It is comparing wire-based fractional flow reserve (FFR) to angiography image-derived FFR. The technology may open the door to wider use of FFR by eliminating costs, disruption and extra time in the cath lab workflow, the use of pressure wires and eliminate the need for adenosine.

    Structural Heart Occluders | November 08, 2017

    John Rhodes, M.D., co-director of the adult congenital heart program, Medical University of South Carolina, is the principal investigator for the REDUCE Trial, the FDA pivotal study using the Cardioform for PFO closure to prevent cryptogenic stroke. He discusses some of the data showing benefit for patients and debate around all the trials for PFO closure.

    The FDA cleared the additional indication for PFO in April 2018.
