March 31, 2015 — NavisHealth Solutions Inc. announced the general availability of its mobile patient engagement platform, Engage.

Designed specifically for patients, Engage functions as a companion electronic health record (EHR) for hospitals and healthcare providers with an interactive mobile application suite; the application gives patients the tools they need to feel more involved, supported and engaged in their own healthcare. Engage is an application for EHRs certified by the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC HIT); the program complements existing patient portals and meets Meaningful Use requirements including for patients to view, download, and transmit healthcare data.

Salina Regional Health Center in Kansas recently partnered with NavisHealth to launch their native mobile patient engagement app branded as Salina Regional Engage. Patients can see lab results and prescription information, track their blood pressure readings and access hospital services through their iPhones or Android devices.

"Access to the Engage mobile app and our Health Portal are user-friendly systems that empower patients to become more active managers of their own care," said Michael McEldowney, information services director at Salina Regional Health Center. "Patients who are more informed are more likely to seek the best practices to maintain and achieve good health."

With Engage, hospitals of any size can quickly launch fully branded native mobile applications for iPhone and Android to give patients the tools they need to better manage their healthcare information and facilitate better communication with medical professionals.
