Kjaya Debuts Free Cloud-Based Image Sharing Service

October 3, 2011 — Kjaya Medical will debut iShareScan.com, a cloud-based image sharing solution, at RSNA 2011. The site is available at no cost to imaging sites. It enables users to upload images to the Kjaya cloud, where they may be accessed, viewed and manipulated instantaneously in 2-D, 3-D or 4-D by authorized physicians utilizing the company’s advanced remote viewer.

The uploaded study will remain on the cloud for up to 30 days without a charge or longer for a nominal per study fee. Facilities can also transfer studies from one picture archiving and communication system (PACS) to another. The free solution uses the same technology that powers Kjaya’s full per-study-fee-based VoXcell cloud PACS 3-D radiology information system (RIS) solution.

Both KJAYA solutions rely on multiple graphic processing units (GPUs), which handle large amounts of information simultaneously. This makes the system 100 times more powerful than typical PACS servers that utilize single central processing units (CPUs). This immense processing power is used to produce and stream intelligent visualizations   instantaneously over the Web without transmitting the raw scan to the end user.

Users can also view images in real time from any Web-enabled computer, including the iPad.
