Intelligent Cardiac Structured Reporting Featured at ACC 2011

March 22, 2011 - Further enhancing its cardiovascular reporting capabilities, Fujifilm Medical Systems Inc. added its Intelligent Structured Reporting (ISR) technology, an advanced software decision support system. ISR will be featured along with the complete lineup of Synapse Cardiovascular products at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) 2011 Annual Scientific Session and Expo, April 2–5, in New Orleans. Fujifilm’s booth is 2001.

ISR is the latest addition to the Synapse family solutions to enhance clinical workflow and increase diagnostic certainty. The software aids efficiency by enabling cardiologists to read more exams in less time. It does this by incorporating an advanced tool set that directly ties echo measurement data and clinical statements to a comparative knowledge base. This helps improve the reading accuracy and report consistency when interpreting echocardiograms.

Advanced capabilities of ISR include the ability to monitor input echo measurements in real-time, warn the user of inconsistencies and automatically complete an echocardiography report based on absolute and inferred data. The application also suggests further areas of evaluation, based on clinical findings, and outlines a treatment consideration for the patient.

ISR brings a new clinical concept to echo reporting using the Agile Computing Theory. This technology makes frequent, real-time updates to Synapse Cardiovascular to ensure that the cardiologist and sonographers are equipped with the latest cardiovascular information. This data is standards-based and all suggestions provided by the system are directly traceable to a clinical source. The database includes thousands of peer-reviewed clinical papers so cardiologists have the ability to prove statements and perform further research.

Fujifilm will also be featuring its full range of informatics products, including Synapse 3D and Synapse Mobility, at the 2011 ACC.
