For the first time in the electrophysiological (EP) industry, a heart arrhythmia patient in Italy was treated remotely by a doctor in Boston using the CARTO XP Electroanatomical Mapping System. The procedure took place at the Heart Rhythm Society annual meeting in May.
The system combines the accuracy of the CARTO System with the operating ease of Windows software.
It integrates into an EP environment, adding tools that enhance clinical capabilities in an easy-to-upgrade platform. The intended use of the system is catheter-based EP cardiac mapping.
The CARTO XP System provides information on the electrical activity of the heart in a procedure that uses the same techniques and tools as other cardiac catheter mapping systems.
