Esaote Premieres New CrystaLine Ultrasound Imaging at ACC 2014

CrystaLine imaging technology gives clinicians clearer view of all patients

April 2, 2014 — At the 63rd annual scientific session of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), Esaote premiered its new CrystaLine imaging technology that improves ultrasound’s diagnostic efficiency by enhancing image clarity and providing clinicians the ability to personalize image quality for each patient.

As the number of insured patients expands, clinicians are challenged to efficiently image larger volumes of patients across a wide range of ages and body types. New CrystaLine imaging technology contains several workflow enhancements to help clinicians efficiently and effectively manage their increased workload.

XView+ and CPI are two CrystaLine features that enhance diagnostic confidence and improve clinical workflow by increasing image clarity across patient populations, from obese to pediatric. XView+ is a unique speckle reduction algorithm that provides multiple levels of noise reduction so sonographers can personalize image quality by ‘dialing in’ the right amount for each patient. CPI improves image quality at depth so sonographers can more effectively image structures deeper within the body of large and difficult-to-scan patients. Images for all patients now yield better anatomical definition throughout extended fields of view, leading to a more confident interpretation of image data.

“We see a noticeable improvement in image quality and Doppler performance in patients scanned with CrystaLine imaging technology,” says Joan J. Olson, B.S., RDCS, RVT, FASE, lead cardiac sonographer at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

CrystaLine imaging technology builds on Esaote’s existing eHD platform and is available on new MyLab Twice, Seven and Alpha ultrasound systems. For customers with those systems already installed, CrystaLine is available as an upgrade.

“Ultrasound remains a primary tool in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease,” said Brian Murphy, vice president of marketing and sales for Esaote North America. “Esaote is committed to continuously improving ultrasound’s ability to serve the evolving needs of new and existing customers throughout the United States.”
