DAIC Wins 2018 National Azbee Award for Editorial Excellence

Magazine honored with a Silver award as a leader in industry analysis

DAIC Editor Dave Fornell won the 2018 AZBEE national silver award for best blog for "The Future of Cardiology: 17 Technologies to Watch. DAIC magazine - diagnostic and interventional cardiology magazine.

May 14, 2018 — Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology (DAIC) magazine was honored with a Silver national Azbee Award for editorial excellence at the 2018 National American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE)  Azbee Awards of Excellence banquet in May in Washington, D.C.  DAIC and Editor Dave Fornell were recognized in the Online Blog Analysis/Commentary category for Fornell’s blog series “Insights Into Cardiovascular Technology Advances.”

The blog series submitted for the award included the following blogs from 2017:

Fornell was recognized for the same blog series in April with a Regional Silver Azbee Award in the ASBPE Upper Midwest region. DAIC also received a Regional Bronze Azbee in the Social Media Presence category. The DAIC team recognized for these achievements includes Fornell, Editorial Director Melinda Taschetta-Millane and Associate Editor Jeff Zagoudis.

DAIC's sister publication Imaging Technology News (ITN) also received two national Bronze awards for Regular Column - Contributed, and Video - News categories. The video that won was "Technology Report: Enterprise Imaging." ITN was also named a winner in five regional Azbee categories. 

The Azbee Awards of Excellence recognize the best editorial, online content and design in business-to-business (B2B) media. According to ASBPE, more than 1,000 entries across 78 categories were submitted for the 2018 Azbee Awards of Excellence. Entries were judged by more than 100 experienced editors and designers in the business-to-business (B2B) space.

DAIC was also recently names the recipient of a 2018 Jesse H. Neal Award — considered the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press” — for Best Use of Social Media. DAIC's social media efforts went into high gear in 2016, and the publication reached 1 million pageviews for the year for the first time in November 2016. In 2017, the 1.4 million pageviews were achieved with more than 130,000 pageviews coming from social media alone. Conference coverage on social media reached more than 100,000 unique readers for the year.
