November 17, 2015 — Merit Medical Systems Inc. and its ThinkRadial education program now offers a new vascular training model at events throughout the world.
The custom-designed ThinkRadial Vascular Training Model gives cardiologists and radiologists the opportunity to introduce guide wires, diagnostic catheters, guide catheters and interventional devices into the vascular system from several access points – left and right radial, left and right ulnar, as well as femoral.
The model provides realistic simulation to several procedurally critical vascular destinations, while allowing the practitioner to “see” the way radial products perform inside the body. This model provides physicians with an opportunity to have hands-on radial practice and test various radial devices.
The ThinkRadial Vascular Training Model is one of several training tools included in the Simulations Module of the ThinkRadial Training Course, an immersive two-day experience with hands-on cadaver training, didactic presentations and live taped cases proctored by two renowned proctors: Sandeep Nathan, M.D., an interventional cardiologist from the University of Chicago; and Darren Klass, M.D., an interventional radiologist working at Vancouver General and UBC Hospitals in Vancouver, Canada.
