Sono-Wipes Available for Ultrasound Market

August 20, 2014 — Advanced Ultrasound Electronics announced the availability of Sono-Wipes, a one-step disinfectant deodorizer wipe specifically made for ultrasound equipment.

Features include:

  • Transducer and cable infection control and cleansing;
  • Safe for touch screen cleaning;
  • Sanitizing all ultrasound systems;
  • Use without gloves; and
  • Proven effective against 47 pathogens, including MRSA, HIV and staph.

Infection control is becoming an important regulation to hit the medical industry. Most disinfectant wipes in used in hospitals, clinics and imaging centers can cause damage to ultrasound equipment, which cannot be cleaned in the same ways as X-ray machines, CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) units.

Sono-Wipes come in 50-count packs of non-abrasive, non-damaging large (7 x 11 inch) moist wipes. The packs have ultra-stick technology to keep them fixed to equipment for convenient use.
