ACC Certifies Lumedx for Software Interoperability Between Four Registries

Only vendor certified for automatic data cross-population between cath PCI registry, ACTION Registry-GWTG, ICD registry, and the new IMPACT registry

Lumedx Software American College of Cardiology

September 26, 2012—The American College of Cardiology (ACC) has certified Lumedx software as fully interoperable between four ACC NCDR registries. Lumedx, a leading provider of integrated cardiovascular imaging and information systems, is currently the only software vendor offering this level of interoperability.

“We believe that interoperability is the next step in a more seamless user experience and will provide institutions with an easy, efficient means of collecting data and participating in the NCDR. We are excited to certify Lumedx software with this new functionality,” said Senior Director of NCDR Registry Services Barbara Christensen, MSHA, RN.

Interoperability means that once Lumedx clients capture data for an ACC outcomes registry, common fields in the other registries are automatically populated. Cross-population of data is now automatic in Lumedx software for:

  • CathPCI Registry – for diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous interventions
  • ACTION Registry-GWTG – for acute coronary syndrome patients
  • ICD Registry – for implantable cardioverter defibrillators and leads
  • IMPACT Registry – for pediatric and adult congenital treatment

“Our clients participate in multiple cardiac registries and quality improvement initiatives," said Katrina Craig Valvis, Lumedx registries manager. "They work every day to capture the information they need for clinical outcomes reporting—and this effort can take a considerable amount of time without a good system in place. Interoperability between the Lumedx registry modules enables hospitals to monitor standards of care more efficiently."

Automatic cross-population of common data across ACC NCDR registries helps cardiovascular service lines:

  • Enhance data integrity
  • Comply with ACC guidelines
  • Run reports internally
  • Monitor program performance
  • Improve outcomes

Registry interoperability is the latest in a suite of tools developed to help hospitals meet the growing demand for accessible data and straightforward national registry participation. These solutions enable easy data collection while providing hospitals with the access and flexibility they need to get the most out of their data.
