May 18, 2011 - The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) announces tools and training to help medical informaticsprofessionals stay competitive in a rapidly changing environment. SIIM will provide fundamental, up-to-date education and solutions essential for imaging informatics professionals (IIPs) and their organizations at the society's 2011 annual meeting, June 2-5, in Washington, D.C./National Harbor, Md.
A pre-conference Imaging Informatics Bootcamp targets not only imaging informatics professionals to help them prepare with confidence for the ABII IIP certification exam, but also physicians, residents, administrators, physicists, IT managers, technologists, and engineers who are looking to gain a stronger understanding of the fundamentals of the PACS environment, and the competencies and skills required for practicing and administering imaging enterprise management systems. The IIP Bootcamp - a full-day, intensive training course on Wednesday, June 1 - provides a foretaste of the more in-depth education that occurs throughout the SIIM 2011 Annual Meeting.
The SIIM Annual Meeting is the most important imaging IT healthcare meeting of the year for imaging informatics practitioners in all medical specialties. Eight learning tracks have been engineered in 2011 to be cohesive and relevant for using informatics and healthcare IT to deal with real-world concerns.
A specific roadmap to guide IIPs through SIIM 2011 is available on the SIIM Annual Meeting website. Additionally, a CIIP roadmap is available for the go-to sessions at SIIM 2011 geared to the continuing education and re-certification of CIIP diplomats. SIIM provides certificates of
attendance to participants in the IIP bootcamp and all SIIM 2011 sessions for reporting continuing education hours to the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII).
