Remote Monitoring Trial Completes Enrollment of Heart Failure Patients

August 4, 2009 – The Yale University School of Medicine today announced the successful enrollment of more than 1,650 heart failure (HF) patients as part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)-sponsored, Tele-HF study to evaluate the impact of device-free remote patient monitoring (RPM) on improving chronic care management and reducing hospitalizations of HF patients.

Yale University, the center coordinating the study, selected Pharos Innovations as the exclusive telemedicine provider. In the study, 30 diverse provider organizations from across the U.S. use Tel-Assurance, Pharos' device-free RPM platform, for the daily telemonitoring of patients going home after a hospitalization for HF. Data is being compiled and the actual results of the trial are expected to be released in 2010.
