April 9, 2009 - Epic showed its newly introduced cardiovascular module for its electronic medical record (EMR) this week at HIMSS 2009 in Chicago.
The Cardiant Cardiovascular Information System features multi-modality, procedure-specific clinical documentation, including cath lab documentation. The software also offers streamlined consult, follow-up and referral workflows. It supports protocols, ACC criteria and disease/population management activities while offering seamless integration with imaging systems and monitoring devices.
Epic offers EMR software for both ambulatory and inpatient patients and connects providers to the information they need anywhere the patient receives care. The award-winning EpicCare EMR is said to be fast and physician friendly, and offers integrated access and revenue systems to help simplify the administration of care.
Among Epic’s other software modules are software packages for radiology, operating room, ICU, emergency department, and clinical labs.
EpicCare was one of the first EMRs to be CCHIT certified.
