Concentric Medical, InTouch Health Partner to Advance Acute Ischemic Stroke Care

August 12, 2008 - Concentric Medical Inc., a leader in devices for clot removal in ischemic stroke patients, announced today it has entered into a co-marketing agreement with InTouch Health to facilitate the advancement of stroke care in the U.S.

The companies will work with hospitals to create centers of excellence for treating acute ischemic stroke, developing comprehensive programs that offer patients the broadest range of options in acute stroke intervention.

Concentric Medical provides Merci Retrieval Systems, a minimally invasive device that is delivered by a neurointerventionalist into the brain to restore blood flow by engaging, capturing and removing blood clots that cause ischemic stroke. Concentric will also offer tools, resources and physician training to help hospitals provide advanced care for patients suffering from ischemic stroke.

InTouch Health provides Remote Presence technology, a next-generation telemedicine solution combining the power of robotics, wireless and the Internet to achieve full physician coverage for patients that present to the hospital with acute stroke symptoms. Through its RP-7 Remote Presence Robotic System, a proprietary mobile robotic and communications platform, doctors are able to consult with hospital-based patients and staff more easily and frequently.
