iPhone Browses Diagnostic Heart Images

July 17, 2007 - Heart Imaging Technologies (HeartIT) announced today that medical images can be viewed on Apple’s new iPhone.
Physicians can click on a web link sent via email by one of their colleagues, enter their password, and, for example, view movies of a patient’s beating heart, while they continue to carry on a medical consultation over the phone and browse through the imaging results.
As this technology enables physicians to drill-down and view medical images over the internet, HeartIT contends that HIPAA compliance can be met by using encryption technologies employed by online banking and credit card transactions.
