March 19, 2007 — “Health IT Strategist” reports that San Francisco-based Practice Fusion is offering its Web-based electronic medical record and practice management solutions to physicians for free with the costs of the service subsidized by Google advertising. It has reported that 600 small physician practices have already signed up.
Because of its partnership with Google, Practice Fusion is offering its products without licensing fees or hosting charges, and the company said its system doesn’t require any software to implement and manage.
All of the practices that have signed up for the service are in California, but the company is aiming for national expansion.
