Recently in the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, Roberto Lang, et al. published "Recommendations for Cardiac Chamber Quantification by Echocardiography in Adults: An Update from the American Society of Echocardiography and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging." These recommendations provide guidance on echocardiographic assessment for improved quality and standardization of chamber quantification, with the overall goal for improved patient management. Recommendations include assessment of LV using linear and volumetric measurements, mass, EF and global longitudinal strain. RV quantification includes linear measurements, and TAPSE, S', FAC and global longitudinal free wall strain. Atrial assessment is recommended using linear and volumetric measurements. All these capabilities are provided in EchoInsight visualization and analysis in a workflow-enhancing, vendor neutral platform.

Vendor Neutral, Workflow Oriented Platform Offers Clinically Specific Strain Imaging Applications
Initial applications include Cardio Oncology (LV assessment and monitoring), right ventricle and stress echo
With today’s aging population in the United States, we are experiencing an increased occurrence of cardiovascular disease including heart failure, degenerative valve disease and atrial fibrillation. These clinical challenges, along with changes in healthcare economics and standards, require efficient, effective and streamlined diagnostic solutions. These solutions must deliver critical added benefits including:
• Adding longevity to existing equipment
• Improving diagnostic quality, risk stratification and workflow
• Standardizing across equipment vendor types
• Lowering costs
By delivering valuable echocardiographic tools designed to transform patient management, EchoInsight improves diagnostic confidence, standardization and analysis efficiency. Designed for the clinical environment, EchoInsight visualization and analysis meets today’s clinical needs and healthcare system challenges.
EchoInsight Provides:
• Clinical strain imaging for confidence in assessment and monitoring of wall mechanics
• Automated linear, volumetric and area measurements for efficiency and standardization
• Time savings of up to 70% through analysis of both left ventricle (LV) and right ventricle (RV)
• Fast and intuitive parametric displays for improved analysis, interpretation and trending
• Rapid study comparison for comprehensive assessment and monitoring of patients
• DICOM structured reporting providing auto-population of reporting software
• Vendor neutral platform
• Premier consultative customer support
First Vendor Neutral, Workflow Oriented Platform to Offer Clinically Specific Strain Imaging Applications
In the September issue of the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, Juan Carlos Plana, et al. published "Expert Consensus for Multimodality Imaging Evaluation of Adult Patients during and after Cancer Therapy: A Report from the American Society of Echocardiography and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging." These recommendations include echocardiographic assessment and monitoring of LV EF and strain imaging, along with and RV TAPSE, S' and FAC for improved management of oncology patients at risk for cardiotoxicity.
