Vascular, Cardiovascular Imaging Gets Upgraded Toolkit

November 20, 2008 - TeraRecon introduced new innovations in the cardiovascular and vascular clinical applications for its Aquarius iNtuition advanced visualization solution, including new analysis and measurement tools, at the upcoming VEITH symposium on Nov. 19-23, 2008 in New York City, NY.

Diagnosis and treatment planning is crucial to detection and treatment of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), TeraRecon Aquarius best-in-class client server technology provides robust and industry-leading clinical tools that aid the clinician with diagnosis and accurate treatment planning strategies. Aquarius iNtuition also offers best-in-class planning tools for endovascular intervention, especially for aortic repair.

Aquarius iNtuition provides automated software that identifies vasculature, quantifies stenotic and aneurysmal disease, calculates calcium burden and supports detailed measurement of vessel dimensions and relative locations. Streamlined and customer-tailored Workflow Templates speed the process of navigation through the dataset so that the physician can apply their time and concentration to the clinical interpretation of the studies.

Another feature of Aquarius iNtuition is portability. The company offers a fully self-contained laptop version of the Aquarius solution, as well as AquariusWEB, a browser-based viewer that delivers live, interactive, 3D reports to the interventionalists and surgeons who are the ultimate end-users of the imaging data. AquariusWEB gives the possibility to the physicians to simply open a URL link sent via an email or embedded in the patient record and have instant access to review and interact with the volumetric dataset. No plug-in or installation is required. AquariusWEB works on a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Chrome, as well as Unix-based browsers. AquariusWEB also features a mobile edition compatible with the iPhone.
