THA Group Partners with Cardiocom Telehealth

August 17, 2011 – THA Group, a free standing in-home health company serving coastal Georgia and South Carolina, announced that it will be partnering with Cardiocom to expand its chronic telehealth program providing advanced home telehealth technology to patients with chronic conditions.  Cardiocom is a developer, manufacturer and clinical service provider of telehealth solutions.

"Telehealth has significantly evolved over the eleven years we have practiced telehealth, in terms of both software and hardware, necessitating the need to explore systems to meet our current needs," says Ellen Bolch, president and CEO of THA Group. "We chose Cardiocom's telehealth system because it contains those elements that THA Group deemed critical in a new telehealth partner — sophisticated chronic disease management software with an emphasis on self-management, easy to install and use monitors, cellular capability, two-way integration with our point-of-care system, and willingness to partner and develop new ways to advance home health care as the solution to in-home, post acute care.”

THA Group, a family of companies comprised of Island Health Care, Independent Life at Home, Ideal Aging and Island Hospice, was the first home health company in the Coastal Empire and Low Country to implement telemonitoring as the standard of care.  THA Group has been locally owned and operated for more than 17 years and is nationally recognized for being "pioneers" with respect to telehealth in home care. THA Group is an affiliate of the Center for Telehealth at Georgia University of Health Sciences (Medical College of Georgia). All of the clinicians have been certified in chronic condition management by a nationally recognized organization.

Cardiocom is a home telehealth solution.  Founded in 1997, Cardiocom develops, manufactures and markets its own telehealth devices for heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and other chronic conditions.  Cardiocom's clients include some of the most respected home health groups, health plans, hospitals, physician groups and coordinated care companies in the nation.  Through these established relationships, Cardiocom improves the lives of thousands of people each day.
