August 14, 2008 - TeraMedica Healthcare Technology’s Evercore Enterprise Suite has been fully tested and certified for use with IBM’s Grid Medical Archive Solution (GMAS) storage management system, TeraMedica announced yesterday.
The Evercore solution allows physicians and other healthcare caregivers to obtain instant access via an existing EMR to both medical images and patient studies, including MRI scans, X-rays and cardiograms, together with digital content such as electronic reports. IBM’s GMAS is an integrated storage solution that provides hospitals, research institutions and pharmaceutical companies with a virtualized, automated and secure repository for medical images, patient records and other critical healthcare information.
The integration of these two solutions should provide physicians with a more complete view of a patient study while optimizing productivity and lowering costs for IT.
The Evercore Clinical Enterprise Suite of software modules can reportedly connect and manage the digital image infrastructure of a healthcare system from the imaging device or PACS to the electronic health record (EHR) and the clinical desktop. IBM’s GMAS adds a virtualized and automated enterprise storage archiving system said to ensure fast and consistent delivery of images and other imaging reference data, automate storage dministration, protect clinical information for life and help reduce total cost of ownership.
