March 18, 2015 — SecondOpinionExpert has expanded its online medical second opinions platform by launching an electronic health record (EHR) mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

The mobile app provides access to SecondOpinionExpert’s eHealth Records service, allowing patients to easily view previously uploaded medical records and images, as well as update their personal health information using a smartphone or tablet. The app creates a comprehensive and personalized picture of patient health information that can conveniently be shared with any healthcare provider, family member or other individual chosen by the patient. Further, physicians receiving this information can insert their remarks or recommendations directly into the eHealth Record for the patient to review.

SecondOpinionExpert’s eHealth Records app is completely secure, HIPAA-compliant and free of charge. The app includes a high-resolution image viewer that is equivalent to the image resolution used in radiological diagnostic interpretations. The app’s features are presented in a visually attractive and easy-to-use interface.

The app also enhances SecondOpinionExpert’s Second Opinion service. Through its desktop website, patients can upload relevant medical records, answer a specialty-specific health questionnaire and obtain a medical second opinion from a panel of board-certified physician specialists within 48 hours. Additionally, health information entered via the eHealth Records app can be used to obtain a second opinion.

The app is available for download free of charge from the App Store and Google Play.
