April 20, 2009 β The 2009 Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography Annual Scientific Meeting (SCCT 2009) has received nearly 200 scientific abstracts for its fourth annual show, which is scheduled for July 16-19, 2009 in Orlando, FL.
This amount of abstracts exceeds the number submitted in previous years, and will comprise the largest single-meeting collection of cardiovascular CT original scientific abstracts, said SCCT.
Nominations for the Siemens Outstanding Research (SOAR) Award and the Young Investigator Award (YIA) also surpassed the number of nominations received in previous years. The submitted abstracts cover a wide variety of topics in technology, clinical and basic science research in cardiovascular imaging by computed tomography from internationally recognized experts in cardiovascular CT. The highest volume of abstracts submitted came from the U.S., followed by Germany, Argentina, Japan, Mexico and Australia.
Accepted abstracts will be published in a supplement of the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and will be presented as either oral or poster presentations at SCCT 2009. All accepted abstracts are eligible to receive the Best Abstract Award, in the categories of clinical and technical research, which will be based on the oral or poster presentation.
