PETNET Solutions Opens North Carolina SPECT Radiopharmacy

March 20, 2009 – Siemens Healthcare subsidiary PETNET Solutions is opening a new SPECT radiopharmacy in Raleigh, NC.

Through an agreement with Covidien Medical Imaging, PETNET now offers a combined portfolio of high energy and low energy radioisotopes to the nuclear medicine community, further expanding its PET and SPECT coverage.

The new site is located alongside the company’s PET manufacturing and distribution center. The site is USP Chapter 797-compliant and is the only site in Central and Eastern North Carolina with a cyclotron and the ability to service both high and low energy isotopes.

PETNET Solutions reportedly operates the largest PET radiopharmacy network with 50 radiopharmacies and distribution centers at multiple locations throughout the world that produce and distribute PET radiopharmaceuticals to hospitals, clinics, and research facilities for PET imaging.
