August 13, 2008 - Hospitals today need software fast enough to accommodate high-volume clinical areas like cardiology, surgery and peripheral vascular, while providing flexibility for the unique needs of all departments, and Lumedx said its new scheduling system meets these demands.
The company’s recently introduced CardioSchedule provides efficient scheduling for multiple rooms and procedures across the enterprise, even in multifacility environments. The company said it provides continuity across departments while allowing individual areas to control their schedules and eliminates labor-intensive, security-risk manual whiteboards and paper records. The system uses a HIPAA-compliant patient/visitor information system. The software also allows importation of patient data from a hospital information system and exportation of information to a data repository.
“What we’ve been able to do with CardioSchedule is offer continuity around the task of scheduling within three very important areas of cardiology,” said Derek Woods, manager of cardiovascular and diagnostic neurology information services, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Wake Forest, NC. “We currently have a hospital-wide initiative for clinical scheduling. We’re thinking, ‘We’ve already solved that problem in our cardiovascular service line.’”
