April 4, 2008 - McKesson took the opportunity at ACC not only to showcase its Horizon Cardiology cardiovascular information system (CVIS) and enhancements to Horizon Cardiology Hemo but also to announce the integration with Mortara Instrument's Mortara ELI series electrocardiographs.
Horizon Cardiology is a cardiovascular information solution for cath, hemodynamic monitoring, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound and nuclear cardiology. It is designed to meet the full spectrum of needs for healthcare organizations with diagnostic digital image management, archiving, procedure reporting and workflow management.
Horizon Cardiology uses standards to integrate the cardiology department with hospital systems including radiology PACS, inventory, billing, orders, worklists and registry submission modules.
Horizon Cardiology Hemo, a hemodynamic monitoring system, now supports charting reportedly through the entire peri-procedural event, providing both holding area charting and in room nurse charting on a single database design with a unique identifier to track individual clinician tracking.
McKesson also announced a strategic relationship with Mortara Instrument Inc. to integrate the Mortara ELI series electrocardiographs to communicate directly with the McKesson CVIS. The DICOM-enabled ELI devices will communicate bi-directionally and receive a DICOM modality worklist with patient demographics and order information from the CVIS.
