October 18, 2007 - Vascular Solution Inc. spotlights its Guardian hemostasis valve and Gopher Support Catheter at TCT 2007.
The Guardian hemostasis valve uses an ergonomic click-open/click-close design to provide protection during complex interventions and separation of multiple in-dwelling guidewires and other devices used in the catheterization procedure. It also reportedly fits comfortably in the hand and allows for easy one-hand operation.
The valve uses star-shaped seal technology to provide independent movement of multiple in-dwelling devices and a complete seal around each device, according to manufacturer.
The Gopher Support Catheter is designed for use when treating coronary and peripheral stenoses over an existing inplace 0.014” guidewire.
The catheter combines a highly torqueable nitinol laser-cut backbone with a 3F threaded distal tip, resulting in a catheter that can pull itself across a stenosis when rotated by the operator in a clockwise direction.
It also features a fully sealed polymer-jacket shaft to allow contrast and medication delivery, guidewire support and exchange.
