October 22, 2007 - GE Healthcare highlighted the advantages of its digital flat panel Biplane imaging systems, the Innova 3131IQ and 2121IQ, which are designed to enable imaging fine vessels and cardiovascular anatomy and to perform 3D rotational imaging to produce three-dimensional images of the vascular system, bone and soft tissue in the body.
Both Innova systems are reportedly capable of covering the full size of the patient’s lateral and frontal anatomy simultaneously for a variety of cardiovascular and neurovascular image-guided interventional procedures. This means that these procedures can be done with fewer x-ray images and contrast injections, both significant benefits for the patient. Both systems are indicated for use in cardiovascular imaging, diagnostic and interventional procedures, and three-dimensional imaging of vessels and soft tissue.
With the only 30x30 cm detector in the industry, the new Innova Biplane systems offer interventional radiologists and cardiologists a significant advantage over existing technology in performing a wide range of image-guided treatments.
