The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) handed out its 2016 Azbee Awards for the Upper Midwest Region at a banquet in Chicago on June 29. The Azbee Awards recognize editorial and design excellence in the business, trade and specialty press. Scranton Gillette Communications’ healthcare brands, Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology (DAIC) and Imaging Technology News (ITN), each won an Azbee Regional Award in different categories.
DAIC captured the Silver Azbee in the Humorous/Fun Department for The Off Beat articles. ITN took home the Bronze Azbee Award in the Regular Column, Contributed category for its Greg Freiherr series of columns.
DAIC is the industry news and product/technology resource for more than 25,000 healthcare professionals within hospitals, heart centers and related facilities. ITN delivers industry news and product and technology information to more than 34,000 professionals in radiology radiation oncology, women’s health and nuclear medicine departments at U.S-based hospitals and freestanding imaging/oncology centers.
Both brands are well known in their industries for their unique research charts that compare manufacturers and products of specific technologies. DAIC/ITN Editorial Director Melinda Taschetta-Millane and DAIC Editor Dave Fornell are known for their presence at and video coverage of industry events.
“The Healthcare Group was thrilled to be in such great company as finalists in this year’s competition,” said Taschetta-Millane. “We are honored to have placed so well.”
ASBPE received more than 1,100 submissions for its prestigious 2016 awards. Seven Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon brands took home 2016 Azbee Regional Awards in 10 categories.
