February 23, 2017 — The Software & Information Industry Association recently announced the 2017 Jesse H. Neal Award finalists, with DAIC named a finalist in the Best Use of Social Media category for its extensive social media campaign in cardiology in 2016. The enhanced social media campaign helped DAIC reach 1 million pageviews for the year for the first time in November 2016.
"Social media is a growing area where our readers spend more time each day," said DAIC Editor Dave Fornell. "Social media helped our website gain more than 75,000 new pageviews."
DAIC’s sister publication, Imaging Technology News, was also named a 2017 Neal Award finalist, achieving recognition in the Best Commentary/Blog category for “How Radiology Can Put the Patient First” by Contributing Editor Greg Freiherr. The September blog post was the culmination of a themed blog series on patient centricity.
The Jesse H. Neal Award is recognized as the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press.” Established in 1955, the awards are named after ABM’s first managing director, who promoted the business press throughout his life.
The winners, selected for exhibiting journalistic enterprise, service to the industry and editorial craftsmanship, will be announced March 31, at the New York City awards luncheon.
