Cardio PACS Addresses Diagnostic Imaging Needs, Workflow

December 10, 2008 - Agfa HealthCare has signed a contract for the delivery and installation of its IMPAX Cardiovascular solution at the Antwerp University Hospital to provide enterprise-wide access to cardiology patient records designed to meet the high volume diagnostic needs of the department.

The contract includes an eight year service, maintenance and licensing agreement. The Antwerp University Hospital, in Belgium, counts 38 specialized medical services and treats nearly 200,000 patients per year. The hospital has 2500 employees.

Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX Cardiovascular is designed to meet the image review and reporting needs of cardiologists on a platform that supports departmental and enterprise workflow. Employing a platform that supports both departmental and enterprise workflow, the IMPAX Cardiovascular solution provides image acquisition, display, reporting, storage and distribution management from multiple cardiovascular imaging modalities. From any cardiovascular review station, users can access images, data and reports for point of care delivery in a unified and efficient workflow.

“We selected the IMPAX Cardiovascular solution from Agfa HealthCare for its ability to easily integrate with our existing multi-vendor, multimodality solutions, as well as the ability of the team to meet both our technical and clinical requirements,” stated Professor Vrints, Head of Cardiology, Antwerp University Hospital.
