April 4, 2009 - Biodex Medical Systems featured its Surgical C-Arm Table 840 at AORN 2008, highlighting features such as extra-large radiolucent area, free-float X-Y tabletop, motorized control of height, lateral roll, Trendelenburg motions and a catheter tray extension.
The table, designed for cardiovascular procedures, will accommodate patients up to 500 pounds. A cantilevered low attenuation carbon fiber tabletop accommodates portable or ceiling-suspended C-arms. The radiolucent area is free of cross members, reportedly allowing full fluoroscopic visualization and unobstructed C-arm positioning. The company said functional design provides complete access with reduced radiation exposure to clinicians.
