Agfa Interfaces With Cedaron Solution for Cardiology Outcomes Management

July 16, 2009 - Agfa HealthCare said today it expanded the capabilities of its IMPAX Cardiovascular (IMPAX CV) with advanced software for cardiology outcomes management from Cedaron Medical.

IMPAX CV now interfaces with Cedaron's CardiacCare solutions for cardiology outcomes data collection and national database reporting. The offering allows clinical users to collect procedural information and automatically import the required data to the American College of Cardiology (ACC) National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR), the Society for Thoracic Surgeons (STS) National Database and a number of state and provincial registries and databases. The advanced capability is offered as part of Agfa HealthCare's physician reporting solution.

With the introduction of the broader offerings of Cedaron's CardiacCare reporting, Agfa said it wanted doctors and healthcare facilities to have access to the applications that best meet their needs, the company said. With recent changes to the ACC PCI collection format, cardiovascular departments are reassessing the performance of their existing data collection system, and this integrated solution helps providers manage data for all of the existing ACC, STS and state and provincial registries in one system.

The combined solution of IMPAX CV and Cedaron provides image and procedural report management for invasive cardiac, thoracic and vascular procedures. It allows clinical users to collect procedural information and automatically populate the required data into the appropriate ACC, STS or local registry templates. In addition to registry support, Cedaron also provides clinical data users with tools to query, benchmark and report on the collected results.

IMPAX CV, Agfa HealthCare's solution for cardiovascular image and information management, reporting and access, enables clinicians to easily extract relevant patient information and render clinical data into consistent structured reports. It delivers a patient-centric view of a patient's entire imaging record by providing single sign-on access to multi-vendor, multimodality images and information. Built to satisfy the most demanding clinical workflow, IMPAX CV delivers innovative features, including advanced image management functionalities, structured reporting and secure enterprise-wide access to diagnostic data.
